Ayr Peewee AE Flames Vs. Paris Wolfpack December 3, 2016
On Saturday, the Ayr Peewee AE Flames played at home against Paris.

Gage Montroy would start in net for this game.  In the first period, Ayr jumped out to a good start and started to rack up shots in the first period against the number one team in the league.   Late in the period, after a stopped rush, Josh Loughrin rushed up the ice and scored on the odd-man rush assisted by Jack Ford and Noah Covemaeker.  In the second period, Ayr continued the strong play, but Paris caught up to Ayr in shots on goal.  With 1:23 to go, Paris scored on the breakaway to tie the game at 1.  In the third, the intensity levels rose as both teams’ chances started to get closer.  One minute in, a strong shift resulted in a lot of time in the offensive zone.  Eventually, Noah Covemaeker and Aaron Henhoeffer helped get the puck to Ethan Dunnet, who fooled the defense with his footwork behind the net.  Dunnet then passed in front to Loughrin, who shot the puck past the Wolfpack netminder for the go-ahead goal.  Later in the period, things heated up as both teams drew penalties, and with 4 minutes to go and the Flames found themselves down 2 players on the 5-on-3.  Ayr, however, was determined to keep the lead.  With 1 minute to play, Paris had lots of scrambles in front of the net, with Gage Montroy working magic between the pipes.  With 45 seconds to go, Paris got a good look on net, but not before Montroy squeezed together his pads to close up the five-hole.  Gage almost slid into the net, but the puck stayed out.  After Gage smothered the puck, however, a Paris player started taking whacks at Montroy.  Ayr immediately broke out in defense of their goalie, and the one whack quickly became an all-out brawl with the eleven players on the ice in fist-fights.  When the brawl was broken up, Ayr ended up with the extra penalty.  The final 40 seconds were played 6-on-4, and Jack Ford made the final clearance securing the victory for Ayr, 2-1.  A well-played game for the team as this win moves Ayr into third place.  Great job, team!
