Ayr Peewee AE Flames Regular Season Week 5
This Weekend, the Flames continued their season with three more games in hopes of grinding out a few wins.

The first game of three took place in Caledonia on Thursday night.  Gage Montroy would start in goal for this game.  In the first period, Ayr started out strong only to give up a goal 5 and a half minutes into the period.  In the second period, the two teams continued to battle as Ayr made an effort to equalize the game.  In the third period, Ayr surged forward with great efforts from Liam Hansen and Thomas Carpenter, but Caledonia scored twice more to take the game 3-0.  The next game was staged in Ayr against Paris with Nate Sherk starting between the pipes.  In the first period, Ayr had a much better start than the previous game and started to play more of a team game with lots of puck movement.  4 minutes into the period Ayr found themselves at even strength- a 4-on-4, and capitalized when Noah Covemaeker picked a Wolfpack player’s pocket, heard a call from Josh Loughrin and passed the puck to Josh, who one-timed the puck home.  Unfortunately, Paris struck back quickly to tie the score.  In the second period, Ayr continued to pass the puck well, but conceded two goals off of bad bounces.  In the third period, tempers flared and some players took penalties, but the penalty kills were successful.  With 7:33 remaining, Paris scored another goal to make the score 4-1.  Ayr answered with a goal by Tyson Kaufman at 3:39.  Sadly, the Flames could not tie the score and lost a second straight game.  The final game of the weekend took place in Plattsville on Sunday afternoon.  Gage Montroy would start this game in goal.  In the first period, the Flames got out to a quick start when Scott Hall scored at 8:42 assisted by Jack Ford.  Halfway through the period, Plattsville scored a controversial goal in which goaltender Gage Montroy suffered a minor head injury.  In the second period,  both teams started to play more aggressively in every zone.  Midway through the period, the Rage scored the go-ahead goal.  However, a nice pass by Liam Hansen and great instinctive play by Ethan Dunnet put a goal on the board for Ayr. The Rage scored again on the power play at 1:32.  In the third and final period, the pace picked up and Plattsville scored again at 13:59.  The Flames did not give up, however, and Jack Ford scored on an individual effort at 7:14.  Plattsville then strung together two goals to put them up 6-3.  During the game, Aaron Henhoeffer and Ethan Dunnet showed a great effort and represented the Flames team during the game.  Although the Flames would lose this game 6-3, the boys played with passion and did not give up.  Great job guys!
