Jan. 23 - PLAYOFF GAME vs. Tavistock Titans #1
Our first playoff game was played on Saturday morning. The first period showed great attempts on net, but Tavistock was able to get the first goal of the game. Lindsay, Hanlon, Coughlin, and Holman, pushed hard as the defence and Dalton got an unassisted goal to tie up the first period. Deacon closed out the period saving a shot on net and covered up the rebound. That ended the first period, tied 1-1.
In the second period Deacon made great saves through out the period, even though Tavistock was able to slip one past him. That wouldn’t do for our Flames and we answered their goal with one of our own, made by Dalton and assisted by Aoun and MacAulay. That ended the second period tied 2-2.
The third period was a tough one, Tavistock scored right off the faceoff but they were in the lead for less then a minute because Aoun scored a goal with assists going to Dalton and Steward. Another minute later MacAulay scored our fourth goal being assisted by Samay. There was a fight for the puck just outside our net leading Tavistock to score another goal. The boys did their best keep the puck out of our end but Tavistock was a worthy opponent and with one last faceoff with 2 seconds left Tavistock snuck one last goal in ending the third period 5-4.
