Little Brave Tournament in Plattsville on March 16, 2016
The LL3 Novice boys had the opportunity to play in The Little Brave Tournament for the day during the March Break.  The boys did fantastic as they had fun and played their best. They played three games in one day for the tournament.  The first game was against Twin Center and was an intense and long one with the entire game ending scoreless, so LL3 went into overtime. Overtime went into the 8th period, making the game 1 on 1 and Cohen Dalton scored the winning goal.

The second game, was the battle of the Flames, LL3 against Alymer. Defense was on fire protecting JS Deacon against the ongoing attacks at net.  All the boys hustled down and fought for the puck, Cohen Dalton was able to score 2 goals in the first period, one was assisted by our AP Ryder Cunningham and the second goal was made when LL3 was shorthanded.  In the second period, Alymer came back with 2 more of their goals, but that wouldn’t do for our LL3 boys and with great teamwork they got the puck to Cohen Dalton for 2 unassisted goals within 8 seconds of each other. The third period Alymer scored one more goal and tried to come back. They put a lot of pressure on the net, but our defense lines were there to block the attempts and JS Deacon saved the rest. Cohen Dalton got his 5th goal of the game ending the game, 5-3. The LL3 boys were off to the “A” Division finals.

In the “A” Division finals we played against Twin Center again. LL3 played to win, the forwards fought for the puck and the defensemen was there for our goalie, JS.  In the first period JS Deacon made some fantastic saves, and Cohen Dalton got us on the board with an assist by Ryder Cunningham.  The boys played their hearts out and showed their great teamwork and on the power play Cohen Dalton was able to get an unassisted goal. Ending the period 2-0.  The second period was an intense one as Twin Center put the pressure on us, within 30 seconds of the period Matthew Aoun scored off the faceoff.  The pressure did not affect the defense as they stayed calm and collected to keep the puck out of our end. The second period ended 3-0. In the third period more great plays were made by all team members. Half way through the period Matthew Aoun scored his second goal, assisted by Cohen Dalton. With 2 minutes left in the game defenseman, Brody MacAulay, got a breakaway and scored on the Alymer’s empty net.  The period ended 5-0, with LL3 winning the tournament!! Great job boys!!! Thanks to our AP’s Liam Finn and Ryder Cunningham for coming out and helping us get the win.  Thank you to all the coaches for a fun day playing hockey!!
