January 2nd - 14th game vs. Woolwich Wildcats 4
The Ayr Flames were on fire Saturday morning, starting off the
first period with a goal 10 seconds in by Dalton, assisted by MacAulay. The passing by all team members was
astounding. Deacon made a great save
on a breakaway by Woolwich, with Holman making great defensive plays in front
of him. The first period ended 1-0 for Ayr Flames.
The second period Woolwhich was ready for the Flames and fought back hard. MacAulay and Dalton were able to assist in an early goal by Aoun at 8:01 and the defence was on fire with a stopped breakaway by defenceman Coughlin. Woolwich were able to score two goals on the Flames, which left us behind 2-1 at the end of the second period.
In the third period the Flames would answer those two Woolwhich goals with three of their own. The teamwork by Holman and Deacon was amazing, with a saved shot on net to keep us in the game. Aoun with a breakway was able to close the gap by one with Dalton assisting the goal a minute in the third period. More great teamwork and passing happened through out the entire third period with Aoun able to tie the game up with another goal assisted by Vaisanen. MacAulay and Waschenko both had an attempt at the net with amazing control of the puck, but were blocked by the Woolwich goalie. The period ended with Dalton scoring one last goal with the assistance of MacAulay to end the period 5-2. Way to go Flames!!!!!
