Bantam Rep News
The Bantam Reps had a light schedule last week due in part to some nasty weather.

We managed to travel to Caledonia on Thursday night for a Southern Counties tilt. The hosts went up early in the first, but we did have some good chances. Sam McFarlane nearly converted on a nice shot but their tender stuck out the blocker to deflect it away. Ben Scott was feisty along the boards forcing the Thunder to keep their heads up. As the second frame began Dylan Dugal corralled the puck behind their net and made a solid pass to Trevor Wing who was alone in front of the net. He made no mistake with a blast through the five hole and things knotted up. Andrew Legare showed some nice moves controlling the puck in their corner and banked a pass off the wall to Carter Purdon. Carter pulled the trigger from the point and caught their tender dozing, thanks to a beauty screen set up by Ryan Clinton. Eric Stranz broke up a rushing attempt at our blue line and banked a pass off the boards to Dylan who lead a 3 on 1 rush into their end. One nice shot to the top shelf later and we were up 3 – 1. They scored before the end of the second and the frame ended with us up 3 - 2. Jordan Morschauser broke up a chance in the neutral zone and made a nice pass to Will Barrie who showed some beauty moves to travel up ice but was stymied on his scoring opportunity. Shortly afterward there was a scramble in front of their net and Matthew MacDonald nearly had the puck cross the goal line but his shot was deflected by an errant shin pad but it ended up on Dylan’s stick and we were up 4 – 2. Matthew Tomlinson played a strong game on defense introducing many Thunder to the boards. While we were short-handed, Noah Davis out-skated a defenseman to the puck in the neutral zone and scampered in on their net and bulged the twine to put us in front 5 – 2. Sam Johnson was a force between the pipes foiling many attempts by the Thunder to get back in the game. More playoffs and play downs continue next week. Until next time, may the Flames be with you.
