Bantam Rep News
It was a light schedule last week, as the bantam rep hockey team had only one game.

We entertained Caledonia in our barn on Wednesday night as we were very gracious hosts, indeed. They opened up the scoring in the first period but before the frame had ended, we tied it up. Carter Purdon cut off a neutral ice pass and neatly sent the puck up the middle of the ice. Dylan Dugal scooped up the disc and delivered it ahead to a streaking Andrew Legare. After a shake and bake move and a blast to the top shelf, the period was over. Trevor Wing had a nice opportunity in the first but failed to finish off the play as their tender came up big. Jake Feicht was seen chasing down the puck in their end but his centering shot failed to materialize as he planned. Jordan Morschauser got the crowd going with some nice chants of encouragement and was heard by the Flames on the ice. Ben Scott intercepted a pass on our blue line and dished the disc off to Andrew, who was off to the races. A nice shot through the five hole and we were up 2 – 1. Matt Tomlinson and Ryan Clinton were twin towers of power in our end, keeping the Thunder on their toes. But, alas, Alex Barris reared his ugly head and we ran into foul trouble again. They capitalized on two power plays and the score clock displayed 3 – 2 for the visitors as the frame ended. At the start of the third, Matthew MacDonald corralled the disc in our end and fed Sam McFarlane who made some nice moves but failed to bulge the twine. Will Barrie made a beautiful poke check in their end and directed the puck to Andrew, who directed it back to Noah Davis behind the net. Noah spotted Dylan alone in front of the net and made a tape to tape pass and the next thing you know, the score was all knotted up. Isaac Seltzer made some awesome saves throughout the match. They managed to go up near the end of the frame and added an empty netter to seal the deal. Sometimes the puck just does not bounce for you and that was evident tonight as we deserved a better fate! Until next time, may the Flames be with you. By Doug Legare
