Bantam Rep News
Last Monday, the Bantam Rep Flames were in Hagersville for a tilt against the Hawks.

In the first frame there was lots of action capped off when Ryan Clinton out worked a couple of Hawks and directed the disc toward the net. After a mad scramble, Matthew MacDonald took charge and fired the puck in the back of the net. The second period saw nothing change on the score board, however, Eric Stranz was powerful on the puck and forced the opposition to keep their heads up! In the third period we took command. Will Barrie poke checked a Hawk and delivered a nice pass to Ryan C., who rifled one to the top shelf. Shortly after, it was Sam McFarlane’s turn to light up the score clock when he pounced on the puck following a skirmish in front of the net that was instigated by Trevor Wing. With minutes left in the game, another scramble occurred in front of their net. After a couple of unsuccessful whacks at the puck, it was Noah Davis who took out the trash to give up a 4 – 0 lead. Sam Johnson was solid between the pipes all game earning another shut out! On Friday night we entertained Burford in our rink. On the first shift, we took the lead when Sam M. drove the net and unloaded a shot that the tender blocked. Andrew Legare jumped on the rebound and unleashed one from 30 feet out to the top shelf and we were up 1 – 0. Ben Scott had a couple of scoring chances but was foiled by their tender. Midway through the first, they managed to knot things up. Then the fans saw Jake Feicht drive to the corner with the puck and make the Rochester pass to Trevor W. who deflected it just enough for a beauty of a goal and to restore our lead. In the second, there was plenty of action but no change in the score. Dylan Dugal was in his office much of the game, causing congestion in front of their net. Matthew Tomlinson showed tremendous effort when he chased down a potential break away to divert the disc into the corner. Jordan Morschauser showed some precision passing skills as he threaded many needles throughout the game. We cemented it away in the third after Sam M. tenaciously worked in the corner and threw the puck into the slot. Andrew L. was there to deflect the puck back to Carter Purdon, who found the back of the net with a precision shot. Leading by example was Isaac Seltzer who was hot all night long as he guarded the 4 x 6 twine. Until next time, may the Flames be with you. By Doug Legare
