The Bantam Rep Flames have had a very busy week! We travelled to Paris on Monday night.

Scoring did not get started until the second period when Dylan Dugal stole the puck in the corner and shot it at the net. Amid traffic Noah Davis finished the job and we were up 1 – 0. Shortly after that Carter Purdon pinched at their blue line and fired the puck at the net. Jordan Morschauser was the recipient of a juicy rebound and made no mistake and it was 2 – 0 for us. They managed to get one back before the frame ended and tied it up early in the third. Trevor Wing intercepted a clearing pass in their zone and rifled one into the twine, to put us in front again. But that lasted only seconds as they evened things up again. Nearing the end of thegame, Eric Stranz made an awesome pass up ice to a blazing Noah D. After couple of sparkling moves, the puck was in the net and we returned home with a hard fought 4 – 3 victory. Two nights later, we hosted Port Dover in our barn. The first period saw lots of scoring chances but no results on the scoreboard. Then in the second, after dipsy doodling with the puck Sam McFarlane and fed it to Noah D. who made a net deposit. Minutes later, Dylan D. grabbed the puck in the corner and spotted Trevor W. in front of the net and we were up 2 – 0! They got that one back to close the gap, but we re-established the 2 goal lead when Matthew Tomlinson took a hard shot from the point. Andrew Legare skated into the slot and tipped the shot to Matthew MacDonald and he tucked it past their tender. In the third frame Jacob Feicht skated over their blue line and launched a wrister that fooled the goalie. Dylan D. did much the same with the puck and we were sent the Sailors packing with a 5 – 1 win! This past weekend we travelled up north to the home of Bobby Orr for a tournament. Our first game saw us playing North Bay. Eric S. got things off on the right foot when he trapped the puck in at their blue line and wired a long wrister into the back of the net. Shortly afterward, Carter Purdon did much the same as he skated through the neutral zone and delivered his long wrister into the back of the net as well! The period ended with us in front by 2 – 1 . In the second Matthew M. stole the puck between the blue lines and raced up ice. After getting into their zone he found the back of their net with another hard wrister! In the third, Andrew L. pranced with the puck behind their net and made a beauty of a pass to Ryan Clinton, who drilled it into their net! The Flames found themselves with a 4 – 1 win. Game two was a very physical contest with Hamilton. Ben Scott made many hard checks and kept the Huskies on their toes. Will Barrie was clearing our zone effectively and carrying the disc with dazzling efficiency, whenever possible. After many battles both teams skated away with a sister kisser, 0 – 0! In our third game of the tourney, we played the hosts, Parry Sound. Sam M. started the scoring after jumping on the puck in front of their net after a scramble and we were up 1 – 0. Before the period ended they knotted things up. In the second, Carter P rushed up ice and made a nice pass from the corner to Eric S. After a wicked blast, Noah D. found himself with puck on his stick and a wide open cage – no mistake was made. In the third, Eric launched another rocket from the point, and this time, Dylan D. was there to take out the trash to give us vicory, 3 – 0! With a 3 - 0 – 1, record we went into the semis playing Hamilton again. Perhaps it was the parade to the box perhaps it was bad karma but it was not our day, but we played hard! Throughout the entire week and in the tournament, our goal tending tandem of Sam Johnson and Isaac Seltzer were spectacular. Each shone when it was needed, keeping us alive in games when required! Until next time, may the Flames be with you.
