BANTAM REP NEWS
On Wednesday night the bantam rep Flames entertained the Flames from Aylmer and we were not gracious hosts. Within the first 30 seconds of the game, Trevor Wing picked up the puck in their end and directed the disc toward their net. The result was a juicy rebound that Ben Scott took advantage of and fired it past their tender for 1 – 0 lead for us.

Within 30 seconds of that goal, we found ourselves all knotted up! Before the end of the frame, Will Barrie successfully pinched at the blue line in their end and banked the puck off the boards to Sam McFarlane, who looked up to pass to Andrew Legare, cruising in through the faceoff circle. One blast later, to the top shelf, and we were up 2 -1 at the end of the first. Carter Purdon was solid defensively continuously shutting down opposition efforts to score and effectively passing the disc out of harm’s way. Matthew MacDonald lead a rush into their end and fired one at the net, but the tender stopped it and surrendered a plum that Dylan Dugal promptly picked and found in the back of the net, to give us a 3 – 1 lead to start the third. Ryan Clinton and Noah Davis were continuously the first on the puck in their end and were responsible for many scoring chances. Early in the third, Dylan directed a shot at the net that resulted in a rebound that Matthew M jumped on and bulged the twine to put us up 4 – 1. After a threat in our end, Jordan Morschauser spotted Andrew streaking through the neutral zone and made a beauty of a pass. After skating around a defenseman, Andrew shot the puck just under the blocker of the tender for a 5 – 1 lead! Before the end of the frame, Matthew Tomlinson grabbed a hold of the puck in the neutral zone and banked it off the boards to a breaking Jacob Feicht. Their goalie made a nice save but Ben was there put the rebound home and give us a 6 – 1 victory! Although Sam Johnson was not as busy as he would like to be, he was there to thwart any goal attempts by opposition Flames. On Friday night, we were hosts to Tavistock. The game ended in a 3 – 3 draw. Our goal scorers were Jake, with two and one to Eric Stranz. Jordan gained the only assist in the game. Chuck Barris would have been proud. Until next time, may the Flames be with you. By Doug Legare
