Novice Rep - Week of November 11-17
The Ayr Flames Novice Rep team are tied for first place in the Southern Counties League.  Way to go boys and girls!

First, the team hosted Hagersville, currently in third place in the league, at the NDCC for an amazing game of hockey.  Hagersville opened up the scoring at the end of the first period.  Not to be outdone, Kaelan McDougald put the puck in the back of the Hagersville net early in the second period, assisted by Carter Wright and Jack Whibbs.  Hagersville responded with another goal of their own seconds later.  On an amazing breakaway, Austin Brodhaecker ties up the game with 57 seconds left in the second.  Early in the third period James Sayles brings the Flames ahead, assisted by Kaelan McDougald and Jack Whibbs.  Not to be outdone, Hagersville ties it up with 7 minutes left in the game.  William Graff was a stellar offensive player, forechecking and breaking up plays.  Both teams fought hard to pull ahead, but the last goal was not scored until a penalty was called on Hagersville with 1 minute left in the game.  The Flames took the ice with determination and a power play at hand.  Our defender Jesse Janzen, assisted by Liam Foreman, scored the last goal of the game with 22 seconds left to play.  A key win for the Flames.   Next the Novice Rep team travelled to the Lincoln Blades tournament.  The team lost all 3 games, but had an amazing time together.  The games were fast and swift.  Goalies Nate Sherk and Braydon Woznica were absolutely amazing in net, stopping many shots.  Some amazing moves were seen by these two goalies and the opposition were shocked their pucks were shut down.  First up the Flames played Pelham Centre.  The Flames pulled ahead 3-1 in the first half of the game, thanks to Mark Zeyen's hat trick (assisted by Scott Hall and Liam Forman).  Next the team played Saugeen Shores.  Austin Brodhaecker (assisted by Christopher Cotter) and Jack Whibbs scored the two Flames goals.  Last, the team took on the home town favourites Lincoln Blades with Scott Hall (assisted by Mark Zeyen and Simon DeSousa), Mark Zeyen (assisted by Carter Wright) and Jesse Janzen (unassisted) scoring for the Flames.  Brielle Dugal was awarded the most sportman like player of the tournament for the team.
