Novice Rep - Jan 13-19
This week the Ayr Flames Novice Rep team continued through the OMHA and Southern Counties playdowns with games against Aylmer (1-1), Paris (4-2) and Tavistock (2-2).

Early in the week the Flames hosted Aylmer at the NDCC.  Carter Wright scored the only Flames goal of the game early in the second period.  The team traveled to Paris for a late game, when the refs finally got there.  The boys and girl played hard and Braydon Woznica was stellar in net.  The Flames opened up the scoring early in the first period with a goal by Jack Whibbs, assisted by Austin Brodhaecker and Jesse Janzen.  Paris quickly tied it up, followed by a goal by Scott Hall after a beautiful pass from Carter Wright.  Liam Foreman and Brielle Dugal were strong defenders.  James Sayles and William Graff pushed the puck up the ice.  Last, the team hosted Tavistock on Sunday at the NDCC.  Once again, Jack Whibbs opened up the scoring in the first period, assisted by Simon DeSousa.  After a tripping call when Austin Brodhaecker was on a breakaway he was given the opportunity of a penalty shot.  Lucky for Tavistock, their goalie was in the right place.  Christopher Cotter and Kaelan McDougald were strong, forechecking and rushing for the puck.  Mark Zeyen scored the second goal of the game, assisted by Jordan Charron and Austin Brodhaecker.  Nathan Sherk was amazing in net and kept the game tied to the end.
