Novice Rep - Week of November 4-10
The Novice Rep Ayr Flames were busy this week with games against Norwich (win 7-2), Tavistock (4-4) and Simcoe (win 4-3).

The Flames hosted Norwich at the NDCC.  Austin Brodhaecker opened up the scoring in the first few minutes of the first period, assisted by William Graff.  Carter Wright finished off the first period with an unassisted goal shot from the blue line then followed up quickly for his second goal of the night 30 seconds later in the second period, assisted by James Sayles and Kaelan McDougald.  Great forechecking by Simon DeSousa during the entire game.  With a great rush to the net, Jack Whibbs' hard shot gave the Flames a 4-1 lead early in the third period.  After an amazing puck flip by Jesse Janzen, Christopher Cotter took the puck across the blue line and a great pass to Mark Zeyen who scored the 5th goal of the game.  Liam Foreman broke up a sure thing breakaway by Norwich with speed and determination.  An unassisted goal by James Sayles and the last goal by Scott Hall, assisted by Jesse Janzen, finished off the game.  Braydon Woznica was stellar in net, ensuring the puck rarely crossed the goal line.

Next the team traveled to Tavistock for a hard fought game.  Jesse Janzen opened up the scoring in the first period, assisted by James Sayles.  Austin Brodhaecker brought the puck to the net, scoring the second goal of the game, assisted by Jesse Janzen.  Defence was on fire, with Carter Wright scoring the Flames third goal, assisted by Austin Brodhaecker.  Mark Zeyen tied up the game in the last 5 minutes of the third period, assisted by Carter Wright and Scott Hall.  Nate Sherk was the goalie and worked over time stopping numerous shots on net as Tavistock tried to push for a win.  The Flames traveled to Simcoe for their last game of the week.  Simcoe has been a tough team in the past, good hockey and the boys/girls coming up just short of a goal each time they met.  Determination was brought to the game and Braydon Woznica was ready to do his job and keep those pucks at bay.  Scott Hall got the ball rolling 4 minutes into the first period with an unassisted goal.  The fire was in each child's belly, itching for the win.  Austin Brodhaecker brought the Flames another goal (assisted by Brielle Dugal and James Sayles), bringing the team ahead by 2 goals.  Simcoe quickly scored 2 goals, tying the game up by the end of the second period.  Early in the third period, Simcoe scored again pulling ahead.  William Graff pushes hard to the net scoring for the Flames to tie it up.  Lots of opportunities for the Flames and some key saves by Woznica kept the game tied until Carter Wright broke free and scored the Flames 4th goal, assisted by Jack Whibbs.  Simcoe pulled their goalie but even under pressure, the Flames kept their lead thanks to Woznica's excellent net coverage and the team's ability to clear the zone.  The Flames head to Beamsville this weekend for the Lincoln Blades Tournament.  Feel the Heat - Go Flame Go!
