Novice Rep - Week of October 13-19
The Ayr Flame Novice Rep Team had a very busy past two weeks with 3 hockey games and a tournament.  They are currently standing at 7-3-0.

First up, the Flames took on Ingersoll at the NDCC with passion and fire, coming away with a solid 3-2 win.  Mark Zeyen opened up the scoring in the first period, assisted by Liam Foreman and Kaelan McDougald.  The Flames were unable to score again until the beginning of the third period with William Graff's hard shot seeing the back of the net, assisted by Jesse Janzen.  Liam Foreman scored the last goal of the game, assisted by Mark Zeyen and Jesse Janzen.

Next, the team unfortunately suffered their very first loss of the regular season with a close 3-2 game against Glanbrook.  First goal came at the end of the first period from James Sayles, assisted by Jesse Janzen.  The team fought hard through the second period, but didn't get their next goal until early in the third, by Kaelan McDougald and assisted by Mark Zeyen and Jesse Janzen.  The last regular season game of the week was another win at home against Waterford, 7-4.  Our star female, Brielle Dugal, opened up the scoring, assisted by James Sayles.   Next William Graff's hard shot ended up with another Flames goal, assisted by James Sayles.  Mark Zeyen went ballistic when Waterford tied it up, scoring a solid hat trick, all of which were assisted by Jack Whibbs, James Sayles, Christopher Cotter, and Jesse Janzen.  A proud moment for Scott Hall as he scored his first goal of the season, assisted by James Sayles and Simon DeSousa.  Last goal of the game was scored by Kaelan McDougald, assisted by James Sayles.

This brought the Flames to The Caledonia Challenge Cup Tournament with games against Grimsby (4-1 loss), Simcoe (4-3 loss) and Caledonia (3-2 win).  The game against Grimsby was close until the very end of the third period.  Our sole goal was scored by Christopher Cotter, his first of the season, assisted by William Graff.  Ayr was solid against Simcoe and the win could have gone either way.  A great game by both teams who fought hard all 3 periods.  Kaelen McDougald opened up the scoring in the first period, assisted by James Sayles.  Next Mark Zeyen had an awesome breakaway and clean hard shot that saw the back of the net.  Last, Liam Foreman scored which was assisted by Carter Wright.  The win against Caledonia also saw some great hockey.  Ayr opened up the scoring in the first period with an unassisted goal by Austin Brodhaecker.  Early in the second Carter Wright's hard wrist shot saw another goal for the Flames, assisted by Kaelen McDougald and Austin Brodhaecker.  The final goal that sealed the win was provided by Simon DeSousa.  We couldn't have won or closely lost any of these games without the team's last frontier of Nathan Sherk and Braydon Woznica, the Ayr Flames Novice Rep Team goalies.  Although the kids out of the net were able to get the job done and score, these two got their job done and ensured very few pucks saw the back of our net.  The number of shots combined on these two goalies resulted in many amazing and talented saves.  They are the backbone of this team and the entire group thanks them for their expertise, dedication and tireless effort to help them win these games.
