This week Ayr Flames Novice LL1 played a few games close to home against local Ayr novice teams 2 and 3.  First up, a tough game against LL3.  Both sides fought hard and in the last minutes of the game, LL3 scored the winning goal, resulting in a 5-4 loss for LL1.

Scoring for LL1 was Danik Godard (assisted by Egan McDonald and Jackson Wright) as well as a hat trick for McDonald, one goal assisted by Hayden Covemaeker.  Benson Dietrich and AP player Cohen Dalton seemed to be everywhere they needed to be, pushing the puck into the offensive zone and creating opportunities.  Defence was working overtime with Sullivan Cofell and Derek Groot clearing the puck often, giving goalie J.S. Deacon much needed seconds to regroup.

Next up, a game against LL2.  The team played well and came away with a 4-0 win.  AP player Deacon Samay was stellar, working his position and moving the puck up  the ice.  Carter Cressman opened up the scoring in the first period, assisted by Grady Brown and Wright.  McDonald followed up with an unassisted goal.  Cressman, with his fancy skating, broke away from the pack, scoring his second goal of the game, unassisted.  McDonald sealed the deal with the last goal of the game, assisted by AP player Brody MacAulay and William McLeod.  A solid shut out for Deacon, adding this game to his ever expanding list of  impressive shut outs.  The team is so proud of their goalie, the backbone of the team.

The team has no games scheduled until Dec 20th.  Ayr Flames Novice LL1 wishes to thank their coaches - Al Godard, Mike Cofell, Chris Dietrich, and manager Tanya Godard for all their time this past year.  The boys have had a blast!  The teams also wishes each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2015.
