Novice Rep Exhibition Game - September 29th
The Novice Rep Ayr Flames took to the ice again this past weekend with an exhibition game against Plattsville.
Braydon Woznica took his place in front of the net for his first game of the season. That first game was also his very first shut out with the Flames winning 6-0. Kaelan McDougald started the game off with a bang and scored his first goal of the season (assisted by Mark Zeyen and Simon De Sousa). After a few penalties, including our star female who will not let anyone get the puck past her at any cost, Jesse Janzen scored the second goal of the game. Mark Zeyen increased the Flames score by 1 goal early in second period after an amazing pass from Carter Wright. The team was making some amazing passes leading to an overwhelming number of shots on net (Flames, over 20 and Plattsville 4). Brielle Dugal seemed to be visualizing the teams' every move, consistently moving to defence when one of her defencemen had an opportunity to go to the net. Christopher Cotter displayed his defensive ability once again by blocking the opposing player and keeping the puck in the zone. Kaelan McDougald scored his second goal of the game. Austin Brodhaecker saw his hard shot reach the back of the net for a short handed goal, his first goal of the season, assisted by Scott Hall. The duo of Mark Zeyen and Carter Wright saw their second goal of the game after another great pass by Wright (Flames short handed goal #2). Liam Foreman broke up the Plattsville plays to take possession of the puck on numerous occasions. James Sayles pushed the puck ahead and had great shots on net while seeming to be everywhere to keep the puck out of Plattsville's possession. William Graff had an awesome push to the net, just blocked by the Plattsville goalie. Jack Whibbs was everywhere, keeping the puck in the Plattsville zone, clearing the Flames zone and breaking away for shots on net. An overall amazing game by some amazing kids. The Flames are on the road for a game next Saturday in Plattsville.
