Rob Johnston Memorial Rep Tournament
The Novice Rep Flames did it again! The flames managed to win a second tournament title in as many weekends.

The tournament started with a close game that saw the Flames hold their first period lead against a hardworking Wasaga team Friday. With their Friday battle behind them the flames looked to continue their winning ways Saturday against Six Nations and Dunnville. Both games saw contributions from everyone on the roster and Ayr taking all 6 periods and two wins to gain top spot in the division.
The playoffs started with a familiar opponent, the Burford Coyotes. Burford gave the flames everything they could handle but it would not be enough today. The Flames continued to move the puck and play their fast paced selfless brand of novice hockey to come out with the win and a chance at another tournament title.
In the finals the flames were up against another skilled group from Kincardine. The first period saw the two teams tied in a game that looked to go down to the wire. Ayr's goaltender and defence held the team in it while the offense tried to find openings. The flames never stopped working and with 0.5 seconds left in the second their hard work and team play paid off to give them the lead. The flames would add 3 more goals in the third to make it a 5-1 win and back to back tournament titles.
A special thanks this weekend goes to the teams defencemen and their efforts. This group of players continue to show up every game not caring about individual recognition and doing what is needed to keep the other teams at bay.
We are very proud of all the kids and how they represented Ayr this past weekend.
