Roy Beechey Memorial Tournament
After a hard fought weekend of games the Novice Rep Ayr Flames are the proud champions of the Roy Beechey Memorial Tournament in Tillsonburg this weekend. The boys took a few more steps forward as a team and in their individual game play this past weekend. Everyone contributed in this weekends efforts and should be extremely proud of the way they played and represented the town of Ayr.

The Ayr Flames started the weekend off with a win over Saint Marys Friday by the score of 5-1. They followed that with a 9-0 win over Newcastle Saturday which won the team the B division and a bye to the semi finals Sunday.
Sunday the Flames continued their hardworking ways to get passed Tillsonburg by a score of 6-1 in one of their most complete games of the season against a very strong opponent. A big effort in net carried the flames and gave them a chance to advance to the finals.
In the finals the Flames had one of their toughest games of the season narrowly coming out with a 3-2 win over South Huron. The Flames did not let their nerves get the best of them as they stood up to the challenge against a great hockey team.
The entire coaching staff would like to thank everyone of the parents and players for everything this past weekend. We are extremely proud of the boys and the way they carried themselves on and off the ice in Tillsonburg.
