Schedule & Results, Atom AE, U11, 2013-2014 (Ayr Flames)

The Flames traveled to Tillsonburg for the Southern Counties semi final.  Ayr had not beaten the Thunder in six attempts this season so they came out on a mission. On the first shift Cole fired a shot from the point that Owen tipped in.  The Ayr defense held tight through the first period and Mathew came up with a highlight reel glove save to keep the lead.  In the second a shot went in off the post to level the score.  Seconds later the Thunder took the lead on a shot from the point.  Ayr battled back as Ben put one home from Sebastian.  Early in the third Tristan put the Flames back in front with the assist to Dylan.  Half way through the period Tillsonburg snuck a puck in on a wraparound to tie the score.  It remained tied through the third and into overtime.  Two minutes into OT a mad scramble around the Ayr net resulted in the puck being jammed in for the winner.  Mathew had a great game in goal stopping 33 shots.  It was a tough way to go out but a great Southern Counties season for the Flames!
