best effort during this tryout process.
My goal is to build solid values and team culture for the Team to grow on. One
of my key phrases is we will Practice like we Play and Play like we Practice.
The Challenge
for this year will be the transition to full ice from half ice once we get past
Christmas. We will still be learning the
half ice game while incorporating skills, drills and fundamental game play that
will transition us to full ice when the time comes.
Regular Dry
land and off ice training will help us be ready to take on the league in both
game play situations.
Being able to
play the game with speed will be vital for team success as well as individual
success and accomplishment.
All the information will be relayed through this page during tryouts, releases
may start after the 3rd skate on September 14th
Summary of
this years Tryout is as follows:
Tues Sept
10th 5pm-6pm - Skills & Goaltender Evaluation
-This will be on full ice surface and will be facilitated by Vinny
from Redline Functional Training.
Friday Sept 13th 5pm-6pm – Skills & Goaltender Evaluation
-This will be
on full ice surface and will be facilitated by Vinny from Redline Functional
Training.
Sat Sept 14th
4:00pm -5pm – Skills & Intersquad game
-This will be
on full ice surface and will be facilitated by Vinny from Redline Functional
Training. The Game will be run on Half Ice
Sun Sept
15th 8:00am-9:00 am – Intersquad Game
- Roster to be posted
online Sept 15th. (Final Releases may be in person after)
- Final release and roster to be set on the evening of Sept 15th.
***The intentions of this schedule and the dates for release may change as
required***.
The U9MD final roster will meet for a Team Meeting on Fri Sept 20th for a team
meeting after our 4:30pm practice.
Remember tryouts are a very stressful time for everyone involved and it takes a
toll on kids in a short period of time. Smile, cheer and most of all have
fun. Hockey is a game to be enjoyed.
