There are many features to the website including scheduling, results, association forms, links and key contacts including board members.

ICE TIMES

This year, Hockey Canada has mandated that organizations dedicate time for Player Development (September) prior to any tryouts, evaluations or games being played (October and onward). For September, players will be split into groups alphabetically – please note – these sessions are not your final teams, they are strictly for the Development Sessions, and FUN of course. Look on the website under “PRESEASON DEVELOPMENT” calendar and find your age group. You will be in Group #1 if your last name is starts with A-K and in Group #2 if your last name starts with L-Z.  The first session starts Tuesday September 7thyes, next week! For IP, groups will be broken up based on JR.(2016-2017), or, SR.(2015) NOT alphabetically.

REP TEAM TRY-OUTS

Rep Try-Outs will take place in late September, followed by AE, and LL Player Evaluations. Our Rep Try-outs will begin on or after September 24th. Please go to the website for the schedule for your age group. Cost of Rep Tryouts is $40 per person and is payable on-line through the New Hockey Canada HCR 3.0 system by September 23, 2021 the first try out. There is no additional fee to try out for AE once you have paid for Rep. All try outs will be held at NDCC (North Dumfries Community Centre).

LOCAL LEAGUE

The local league evaluations will begin in October, following the conclusions of Rep and AE tryouts. Please watch the website for up to date details. Once the evaluations are complete, the coaches will pick teams and contact you with your team info. Hockey Canada has changed its policy and instituted NO body contact at any level of Local League hockey.

COACHES & SUPPORT STAFF

A BIG THANK YOU…to all of those who have volunteered to coach/support this year! Your dedication and commitment is much appreciated and I’m sure you will have a rewarding season full of fun, comradery and memorable experiences!

RESPECT IN SPORT

Hockey Canada has made it mandatory for at least one parent to complete the Respect in Sport training. If your child is new to the association, please visit the Ayr Minor Hockey website, click on the link to complete the training. It takes approximately 60 mins to complete and will cost $20. Once it is complete, it will be valid until otherwise noted.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Please take the time to familiarize yourself and all family members with the code of conduct as it applies to all members of our association. Please be sure to use the “24 hour” rule unless immediate attention is required. If you are not familiar with the “24 hour” rule, please contact your team’s parent representative. Please remind your children that bullying and cyber bullying is not acceptable. Incidents involving bullying and cyber bullying will be dealt with accordingly.

PARENT MEETINGS

Once the teams are finalized, your coach will set up a parent group meeting. At the meeting, the coaches will go over details for the year. These will include but not limited to, expectations of the team and players, parent volunteers, team budget, tournaments and important dates for the year including picture night. Attending the meeting will be at least one representative from the AMHA board of executives. They will be there to outline their role for a successful season for your child.

GRANTS AND SPONSORSHIP

Our association relies on many sponsors, both corporate and personal. As an association, we really appreciate what these business/people do for us and our community. You will see them advertised on the rink boards, backs of our jerseys and on the AMHA website. Be sure to thank them by using their services. Please note all sponsorship is intended to be at the association level. As such, there is no team level sponsorship. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact the VP of Administration.
