A Message to Our Members

Ayr Minor Hockey is very appreciative of the
efforts of our coaching staff and our parent groups for the extra effort
that has been required to get our kids active and back on the ice.
As we move through the next few weeks it is
becoming clear that additional restrictions may be necessary to control the
further spread of Covid through our community.
Rest assured that the primary objective of Ayr
Minor Hockey is to ensure the safety and well-being of our players, our coaches,
and their families.
As Waterloo Region prepares to potentially move to the Province’s Red Zone and associated restrictive actions, we understand that this will result in changes to our hockey programming activities. In a Red Zone scenario, the number of players permitted on the ice will be reduced from the current 25 to a lower number. Our objective as an association will be to maximize ice time for our players while working within the provincially mandated guidelines. In September the Ayr Minor Hockey Board made a decision to plan our hockey activities for the 2020/2021 season in two time periods; September-December and January-March. It is our intention to maximize ice time for our players until the December holiday break and to consider all options for hockey activities for January to March. We are planning to open registration for our current player group for January-March in early December. As more information becomes available, we will communicate with our parent and player groups so that they have a full understanding of our hockey programming plans and associated costs for the January-March time period. Should you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to any of the Ayr Minor Hockey board members. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
