ATOM LL 1- Mason Berube Memorial Tournament Champions
Submitted By Nick Waschenko on Wednesday, December 13, 2017
A few weekends ago the Atom LL 1 team made the long trip down the 401 to Dresden for the Mason Berube Memorial Tournament.

The tournament kicked off with the boys coming out victorious over the team from Windsor, with a 3-0 score.  Saturday morning the boys were up early to take on the home town Dresden Maroon, it was a tough battle resulting in a 1-1 tie.  Later Saturday evening the team took on the kids of Southwest Kent, and came out on top of a 3-1 battle.  The boys finished the top of their pool and moved on to Sunday.  Sunday morning the Ayr Flames were up against Chatham and punched their ticket to the finals after a 2-1 victory.  The final game featured a rematch against Southwest Kent.  It was an exciting game, with lead changes, and after the 3rd period concluded, the score was tied 2-2.  The game moved into overtime, with Ayr claiming the victory, and the championship after scoring with 4.2 seconds remaining on the clock!  Well done team, the parents and coaches are very proud of your hard work.
