Ayr Minor Hockey will make every effort to not cancel due to an inclement weather forecast. However, should a decision to cancel be made based on participant safety, teams will be advised via email.
In the event that a team encounters a weather-induced travel delay on route to one of our sports complexes, every effort will be made to ensure that the team is not required to forfeit a game, including the potential delay of a game’s start-time of up to 30 minutes.
If a team cannot make it to play within 30 minutes of their scheduled start time, the game will be forfeit and a score of 1-0 will be entered. If both opponents are unable to arrive within their 30 minute window, a draw will be issued and a score of 0-0 entered.
Please note that a minimum of six (6) eligible players in uniform on each team (which may or may not include a goaltender) are required to start a game. Team(s) that have the players on site to meet this minimum will be required proceed with the game as scheduled. Any refusal to play will result in a forfeiture of the game and a 1-0 score entered.
In the event that a team is unable to play at least 50% of their guaranteed games in the Ayr Hockey Challenge tournament, the team will be issued a refund commensurate to 50% of their tournament entry fee. Note that any refunds will be issued by check only.
The Ayr Hockey Challenge is not liable for your team's travel expenses, such as but not limited to lodging expenses, vehicle rentals, personal travel or insurance.
