Ayr Hockey Challenge
Tournament Rules and Regulations
1. Mercy Rule-If there is 5 mins or less left in the 3rd period, and the goal differential is 5 or more, the remainder of the game will be at straight time.
2. ALL teams must be ready to start their games 15 mins before their required time.
3. Flooding of ice will be at the end of each game.
4. Team Rosters will be limited to 19 players including goalies
5. Home team designated by the tournament director
6. In case of conflicting colours, the home team will change.
7. ALL O.M.H.A rules and regulations will apply
8. All decisions of the tournament committee are final
9. Period length-All 3 period will be 10 min stop time
10. Point system in effect
11. NO TIME OUTS except for the semi-final and final games (one 30 second timeout per team)
12.** MEAL TICKETS TO BE USED SATURDAY AT NDCC BETWEEN 11-3PM.**

Semi-Finals
Novice and Atom
Division 1 – 1st vs 4th Division 2 – 1st vs 4th
Division 1 – 2nd vs 3rd Division 2 – 2nd vs 3rd
Finals
The winners of the Semi-finals will play for the championship.
In the event there is a tie for teams to go to the semi-finals :
1. Most Wins
2. Head to Head
3. The team with the least penalty minutes
IN SEMI-FINALS & FINALS ONLY
Overtime
1. Five minute sudden victory, 4 on 4 skaters, plus a goalie
2. If the game is still tied, 3 players will take 1 penalty shot each, each player home & visitor will shoot at the same time
3. If the game is still tied the coach will appoint another shooter for a sudden death shoot out. The first team to score when the other team does not will be the winner
4. No shooter will repeat until all players on the team have shot. A player in the penalty box in unable to be a shooter.
