Ayr Midget Rep Flames Wingham Silver Stick Finalist
The Ayr Midget Rep Flames were Finalist in the Wingham Silver Stick Tournament. The Flames got their money's worth as they played the maximum six games and went to overtime in three of them!

A week after beginning the tournament with 11 teams, the Flames were one of the final two teams on Sunday in the championship game. The Flames lost in overtime to Kincardine 2-1 in the Finals.

The tournament started on Sunday, November 13th when the Flames faced the Mitchell Meteors in a round robin game which ended in a scoreless tie.  On Tuesday they were defeated by Goderich Sailors, 4-2.

From there the Flames were then seeded as the 8th seed and were matched up against BCH Ice Dogs in an elimination game on Saturday morning. The Flames came out on top with a thrilling 3-2 overtime win to move on to the quarter-finals against Mitchell. The Flames came out flying and found their offensive scoring touch and eliminated the Meteors by a score of 6-3. This set up a rematch with Goderich on Sunday morning in an epic battle that saw both teams lay it all out on the line for a chance at the championship game. Once again the Flames came out on top with another overtime win by a score of 2-1.

In the finals, the Flames were up against a strong and skilled Kincardine Kinucks team.  The Flames were down 1-0 for most of the game until they scored a power play goal late in the 3rd period, sending the game into overtime!  Both teams traded chances in the early stages of overtime, but it was Kincardine who would find the back of the net, for the overtime and championship winner.

The Flames had outstanding goaltending from Isaac Seltzer and Sam Johnston. Solid defense from Dax Van Velzer, Matt Van Ingen, Eric Stranz, Will Barrie, Carter Purdon and Matt Tomlinson. Up front they had contributions from all three lines, Drew Legare, Noah Budd, Jordan Morschauser, Matt MacDonald, Noah Davis, Nolan Gerber, Sam Mcfarlane, Ben Scott and Mitch Allison. Missing in action due to injury was Tyler Zwicker.
