Ayr Atom AE Flames Vs. Embro December 19, 2015

December 19, 2015, the Ayr Atom AE Flames travelled to Embro in hopes of
picking up another win before Christmas.
Nate Sherk would start in net for this game. In the First period, the Flames got off to a great start and immediately got the puck in the Embro zone. This pace was only going to increase. Joshua Ritchie scored 6 minutes in to open the scoring. On the next shift, Noah Covemaeker scored assisted by Kiana Baker to make it 2-0. The score maintained after the first due to stellar defense by: Matthew Wood, Kiana Baker, Aidan Graham and Carter Cressman. In the second period, Ayr’s pace slowed down a little, but they managed to dominate. Nate Sherk was stopping all of the shots that Embro did get on the Ayr net. Noah scored with 3 minutes left to make it a 3-goal lead. This score persisted until in the third period, the Flames continued to apply pressure and get shots on net. Skating was high in hustle and the Flames almost scored multiple more goals. The crossbar! The side of the net! Ayr was not getting a lot of bounces, however, they continued to play well at both ends of the ice. Embro managed to slide one past, but 10 seconds later, Curtis Stone answered right back to make it 4-1. And that was the final score, a win for Ayr. Great job team! Merry Christmas!
