On last weekend the Ayr Atom AE Flames held a
fundraiser barbeque in support of the Flames’ tournaments at Foodland.
The Barbeque was a huge success. In fact, over 400 hamburgers alone were sold on the first day of the fundraiser! The Flames players dressed up in their away jerseys to help run the barbeque along with coaching staff and parents. The players enjoyed the barbeque as it was a great bonding experience for the team. The team had many jobs - working the register, relaying orders, cooking food, putting signs out, and attracting customers. The whole event was very fun for players and coaches. And the winners are… the Flames! It was a great and successful fundraiser with special thanks going to Todd and Celina Bender from Foodland for their generous support, Jennifer Montroy and Cindy Ritchie for organizing the barbeque, players, coaches and parents for running the barbeque, and to all who came out to show their support. What a great community!
