Atom AE Flames vs Embro Oct 24
The Ayr Atom AE Flames faced Embro this Saturday, October 24th for a well-fought game.

The Flames were looking for their first win of the season.  Nate Sherk would start in goal.  Also, there were a few position changes to try to get the best lineup possible.  In the first period, The Flames came onto the ice with great speed and hard playing.  The Flames won a lot of puck battles and started to apply early pressure on the opposition.  As a result, Christopher Cotter potted an early goal to give the Flames an early lead.  Ayr proceeded to get lots of shots on goal.  In the second period, Ayr continued to get scoring chances on the Embro goalie while Nate stopped Embro from getting on the board.  With 5 minutes left in the period, there was a battle for the puck.  Matthew Wood got a breakaway and scored an unassisted goal.  Ayr was great on the penalty kill and killed off three consecutive penalties to keep the shutout.  Whitfield Martin and Aidan Graham were moved back to play defense on a line.  The other defensive line was Carter Cressman and Kiana Baker.  Christopher and Michael Aoun moved up to play on a forward line with Simon De Sousa.  Matthew, Noah Covemaeker, and Gillen Generoux played on a line, Curtis Stone, Ethan Dunnet, and Josh Ritchie played on the other.  In the third period, the Flames continued to battle. Many players almost scored again.  But with 12 minutes left, Carter ripped in a goal assisted by Noah to add to the lead.  The whole team was ecstatic.  Embro answered just 2 minutes later to make the score 3-1 for Ayr.  This did not discourage the Flames, and they continued to dominate and hold the lead.  When the final buzzer rang, The Flames knew they had won their first game.  And for the first time this season, the Flames were truly on fire.
