Final Tournament
Ayr Hockey Challenge!

Novice LL4 entered their final tournament of the season at home with the first game against the Ilderton Jets.  We welcomed Luca Grbac, Brooklyn Jansen and Cole Dietrich to the team for this game.  The first period was scoreless, with our defense and goalie, Grant Smith working hard to keep the puck away from the net.  Shortly into the second period, Will McLeod made great goal with a back-handed shot at the net.  Another goal came with just 9 seconds left in the period - this one a top-shelf shot by Fisher Woznica.  In the third period, the opposing team was able to put themselves on the Board with a goal a few minutes in to the period.   The final score was 3-2 for Ayr Novice 4. Great game, team!

For the second game Novice 4 met up with the Guelph Storm in an exciting match-up.  Half way into the first period, Fisher Woznica bounced one off the goal post, assisted by Lane Sauder.  But it was followed up a few minutes later by a goal from the Storm.  Goalie Grant Smith saw lots of action in the second period, which saw two more goals scored by Guelph.  The Flames started a late comeback in the third period with a goal scored by William McLeod, assisted by Andrew Sayles and Braydon Hall.  The defence; Fisher, Ethan, Luca and Derek did a great job, working the blue line and defending our goalie.  Our forwards; Bryce, Lane, Boston, Braydon, Andrew, William, Brooklyn, Cole and Maxx had some great rushes and nice passes. But even with our hard work, it was not to be.  It was a close and hard fought game that ended in a 3-2 loss.

The third game the Flames come up against a fierce competitor, the Caledonia Thunder.  Caledonia came out strong and scored two goals in the first period and another in the second.  Half-way through the second period Braydon Hall scored, with Cole Dietrich getting the assist.  But the players had a hard time keeping the momentum against the Thunder as they scored again in the third sealing the deal with a 4-1 win.  However, Novice 4 did a great job killing a two-minute penalty and denied the Thunder a chance to score while we were short handed.

The season may be over but players achieved their primary goal- TO HAVE FUN!
