Week of Jan10th and Tournament!
Novice LL4 had a busy week this past week!

We had 2 mid-week games, followed by a tournament in Paisley.  On Tuesday we hosted the Paris Wolf Pack.  Braydon Hall was the only goal scorer this game, bringing home a hat trick!  But he had lots of help, with assists from Fisher Woznica, Lane Sauder, Liam Fahner, Maxx Vanoostveen and Andrew Sayles.  Final score: 3-0 for Ayr Flames!

On Wednesday January 13th we hit the road for an evening game in Tavistock against the Tavistock Titans. LL4 fought valiantly but were not able to get the puck past the goalie for this game.  The final score was 0-3 for Tavistock.

Novice LL4 spent this past weekend at the Elroy Cumming Memorial Novice Tournament in Paisley.  We lost the first game but not for lack of trying!  Fisher Woznica demonstrated his prowess with a wrist shot that the goalie could not stop.  The final score was 5-3 for the opposing team.  Fisher scored a hat-trick!  He was awarded an MVP following this game.   The Flames were back on the ice on Saturday afternoon.  Grant, goalie for the entire tournament, got a shut-out.  Fisher scored both goals, with lots of help from the team.  Ethan Tanner showed us how hockey is played!  His determination and team spirit were evident in this game!  Boston Brown, Derek Groot and Paul Fahner, along with Fisher Woznica provided an excellent defense. Each team member knew their job, and did it well.  It was a great game to watch!  William McCleod was awarded MVP for this game.

The Flames played their final game on Sunday morning.  The first goal of the game was scored by Liam Fahner, assisted by William McCleod and Lane Sauder.  In the second period the Flames scored again!  Braydon Hall got the goal, assisted by William McCleod and Lane Sauder. Third period: 2 more goals!  The first goal was scored by William McCleod, assisted by Fisher Woznica and second by Maxx Vanoostveen assisted by Braydon Hall.  Grant Smith, goalie, was once more close to a shut out but with just 16 seconds left in the game the opposing team managed to get one goal in.  The final score was 4-1 for the Ayr Flames!  Liam Fahner was awarded  MVP for this game.  A huge part of why the Ayr Flames were so strong in this game was again their excellent teamwork skills.   All players worked equally hard, and celebrated each goal as a team.  Bryce McEwan and Andrew Sayles always went for the puck, knowing that the opposing team member wouldn’t have time to think and would often shoot quickly, giving an Ayr Flames team member the opportunity to grab the puck and make the shot.  Because of their excellent ‘digging’ skills this entire tournament, the Flames were able to keep the puck in the opposing end longer and away from our goalie.  With 2 wins and one lost this weekend, the Ayr Flames Novice LL4 team won the B-side championship!
