This past weekend, LL2 participated in the Lisa Dalpe
Memorial Hockey Tournament in Paris. It was exciting times for the team as they
battled throughout the competition to come out the undefeated champions beating
out the Beverly Bandits 3-1 in the final.
It was certainly a victory well earned having to face a tough opponent in the Ayr Flames LL3 in the semis. Division wins were recorded against Paris 2 (8-0), Simcoe (3-0) and Burford (5-0).
Caleb Van de Wiel was a wall in front of the net and came out of the division round robin with 3 shut outs. In the whole competition, he only let in two goals - simply amazing! Great teamwork lended the team the ability to keep the puck out of their end and land it into the opponents net more often than not. The team is proud to announce that Caleb, Spencer Ross and Hudson Maycock all earned a Player of the Game recognition in the competition. As well, the sniper Derek McIlravey recorded a milestone with his first ever hat trick. Way to go Team!
The LL2 Team is looking forward to their final regular season game vs. the Tavistock Titans this coming Saturday with the possibility of a perfect season looming over their heads. Way to go, Flames! Let's do this.
