Bantam Rep News
The Bantam Rep Flames travelled to Langton last Thursday.

Andrew Legare got us rolling early in the first with a rocket blast after Trevor Wing give him a beauty of a pass from behind the net. Eric Stranz had just pinched at the blue line and fed the puck behind the net. Before the period ended, Ben Scott stole an errant disc in front of their net and rifled it to make the twine bulge. As the second frame began, Ryan Clinton intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and banked a nice pass off the boards to Dylan Dugal. He performed an awesome toe drag and broke in free and make no mistake, to put us up 3 – 0. Then, the fans saw Andrew work the puck from behind their net and make a tape to tape pass to Noah Davis. Noah fired it upstairs to give us a four goal lead. Before the period was over, Trevor Wing crashed the net and banged at the puck to no avail. Sam McFarlane stood on the doorstep and tried his best to put us up five but he, too, failed. Finally, Dylan successfully managed to solve their tender. At the start of the second, Chuck Barris reared his ugly head and the penalty parade began for the Flames. During that time, the home squad got the score to within 2 goals but we regained our composure and fired 2 more behind their tender. Our sixth goal was scored by Ben with helpers to Ryan and Dylan. Our seventh was garnered by Trevor with the help of Sam and Noah. Isaac Seltzer was strong throughout the game and could not be faulted on any of their goals! We travelled home with a well-earned 7 – 3 victory. On Friday night we entertained the team from Simcoe. On the first shift of the game, Andrew carried the puck into the corner and found Jake Feicht streaking into the slot. Jake took out the howitzer and blew the puck past a startled tender. Matthew Tomlinson made an end to end rush shortly after and directed a low shot at the net but was foiled. Matthew MacDonald was rushing the net and pounced on the giant rebound to put us in front 2 – 0. They got to within one in the second despite some outstanding tending by Sam Johnson. Will Barrie was a defensive stalwart for us keeping the opposition on their toes throughout the game. Despite being outplayed and out shot, they scored another in the third and stole a point from us as they left our barn. Until next time, may the Flames be with you. By Doug Legare
