Our first 2 Games!
The Ayr Flames Novice LL1 team is off to an amazing start for the 2014/2015 hockey season.  After a few key practices and some much needed skating, the boys took to the ice for their first exhibition game against Novice LL2.

Egan McDonald opened up the scoring in the 1st period with an unassisted goal.  Jackson Wright followed less than a minute later with the 2nd goal of the game, assisted by Hayden Covemaeker.  Carter Cresseman finished the 1st period with the 3rd goal of the game, unassisted.  Darko Maldini scored a beauty goal early in the 2nd period, assisted by Danik Godard.  Benson Dietrich had a spectacular shot on net, just saved by Novice LL2 goalie Ryan Smith.  Covemaeker saw an amazing opportunity, resulting in the puck reaching the back of the net for his first goal of the season.  Sullivan Cofell worked hard, carrying the puck from the neutral to the offensive zone with apparent ease, lining up many shots on net.  Wright ended the scoring with his second goal of the game, assisted by McDonald.  J.S. Deacon was stellar in net and did not let a single puck get past him.  A shut out for Deacon, the first of many to come.  Next, the boys hosted the Beverly Bandits LL1 team at the NDCC for their first in season game.  The team knew they were in for a tough game as teams out of Beverly, in the past, have been strong.  Wright opened up the scoring in the first period with an unassisted goal.  Beverly fought back and tied it up at the end of the first period.  Amazing defensive moves from William McLeod and Derick Groot consistently kept the puck out of the defensive zone.  McDonald fought hard during the second period scoring two goals, one of which was assisted by Godard.  Grady Brown seemed to be everywhere he needed to be, moving the puck up the ice and keeping Beverly at bay.  Beverly fought back again, scoring a single goal in the second period.  Beverly brought out the big guns and managed to tied it up mid way through the 3rd period.  Deacon was on fire, keeping the puck at bay.  Unfortunately, Beverly scored their 4th goal with 30 seconds left in the 3rd period, resulting in a 4-3 loss.  The boys played very well against this strong team and look forward to meeting them again soon on the ice.
